Melbourne Renegades Women – Current Form
Women teams of Melbourne Renegades have superbly kicked off the Women’s Big Bash League 2025. They are now placed second in the points table with four wins out of six matches. The team seems very promising for this season and might get even more successful.
Georgia Wareham has been the top performer she has dominated both departments. She is the top team player with scores of 164 and is also the top wicket count in the form of twelve wickets which showcases her all-round talent.
Renegades had earlier defeated Sydney Thunder Women by 8 wickets; though only 64 runs separated them. Thunder’s batting order collapsed when Georgia Voll, Tahlia Wilson, Phoebe Litchfield failed to score during their innings while Heather Knight managed 20 without much support from teammates. Wareham returned to form in the form of three wickets for twelve while Charis Bekker added two wickets.
The chase of the Renegades was not smooth at first. Emma de Broughe and Courtney Webb were early to fall but Sophie Molineux (29) and Alice Capsey (24) steadied the pace of the match. Their steady combination allowed the team to reach the mark at the end of 12th Over, with eight wickets left.
Perth Scorchers Women – Current Form
On the other hand, Perth Scorchers Women are presently in the fifth position with three wins and three losses. Their top batter is Beth Mooney who has scored 164 runs and Amy Edgar has been the leading bowler for the team with seven wickets.
In their earlier match in the previous match, the Scorchers secured an exciting 1 run win in the match against Adelaide Strikers Women. Initially, Maddy Darke (34) and Sophie Devine (49) were the builders of the score, and Paige Scholfield’s score of twenty-six off twenty-nine balls was the one that changed the whole match and brought the team’s score to an excellent 163/4.
The women of Adelaide Strikers were very determined and Laura Wolvaardt (41) and Madeline Penna (36) were the ones who built the innings.But a wild spell of Chloe Ainsworth, who claimed 3 for 22 caused a collapse. The Strikers missed out by one run, settling at just 158 out in the final delivery.
