India made a strong start in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025, defeating Pakistan for the second time in a week with a convincing six-wicket win in Dubai. The victory pushed India closer to securing a place in the final.

Batting first, Pakistan posted 171/5 on the back of a solid start but failed to accelerate in the later stages. Despite crossing 90 runs in the first half of their innings, their scoring rate slowed, leaving them short of a bigger total.
India’s chase was anchored by a superb century stand between Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill. Gill played a composed knock while Abhishek counter-attacked with style, hammering six boundaries and five sixes. With this innings, Abhishek also became the tournament’s leading run-scorer, amassing 173 runs with a strike rate above 200.
Though skipper Suryakumar Yadav fell for a duck, Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya guided India home in the 19th over, sealing an easy win.
